Yoga is so versatile that anytime is a good time for a yoga, whether working late at the office or staying at hom
e with the little ones. Yoga is so simple to do that you can recreate many of the poses and stretches almost anywhere. I’m sure you know of a few folks who use their lunch hour to improve their fitness by working in a bit of exercise to take off those extra pounds.
Many of these fitness seekers also use the lunch hour for yoga. Practicing yoga in the middle of the day may be the break that you need to get through the rest of the afternoon, especially if you have a late night at the office planned or one of those afternoon meetings. A lunch hour fitness routine may also lessen your desire for junk food! Take note of these easy to do yoga poses that are sure to give you that yoga energy you’re looking for.
Checking Email? Breathe – while checking email or typing a long document, remember to breathe slowly, using the stomach muscles and focus your attention on your breath. In fact make the exhale two times longer than the inhale and you will feel a sense of calm.
Waiting for those copies to run? Put your hands on the edge of the copier or table and stand with your feet apart. Slowly drop your head to your chest as you breathe slowly and relax your shoulders. Feel the flow of yoga energy.
At your desk: Lace your fingers behind your head and relax your shoulders. Put on a big smile, inhale deeply and stretch your elbows backward. Release your breath.
Warrior Pose: Raise your arms to the side, pointing your fingers.Take a step to the side, with your right foot out and right knee bent, left leg straight. Keep the torso straight and strong with shoulders relaxed. Breathe and relax into the stretch. Return to the standing position, switch sides!
These simple poses, done with the proper breathing will serve to improve your yoga energy and mental outlook and leave you refreshed to face the rest of the day.
